Since 1st January, 2004 , the Chatham Congregation has enjoyed a direct relationship with the Presbytery as a lay-led congregation in its own right.

Chatham is situated in the eastern suburbs of the city of Taree, serving a suburban population of people from all age ranges. As if to emphasise that point, the Chatham Congregation has within its bounds a couple of high schools, a couple of primary schools and three retirement villages. It also includes the aquatic centre and numerous sporting fields used by the population of the City of Greater Taree.
