Kempsey is the main town of the Macleay River Congregation which meets for worship in Kempsey but also in Crescent Head and Frederickton, all within, as the name suggests, the Macleay River Valley.
Crescent Head is a popular seaside resort (surfing, fishing and boating) and Frederickton is a small rural centre a little north of Kempsey on the Pacific Highway.
The Macleay Valley Congregation is a lay-led congregation and has as its mission statement:
Serving our valley through love and faith in Christ.
Services are held at Kempsey at 9:30am and 6:00pm each Sunday; at Crescent Head at 8:30am each Sunday; and at Frederickton at 8:00am on the second and fourth Sunday of each month.
