Educational Resources

From time to time the Presbytery offers educational opportunities, often under the auspices of the Presbytery’s Ministry Education Committee (which is concerned with the ministry of every member of the Church, not just the ordained ministry) but sometimes on the initiative of other bodies and officers within the Presbytery.

In addition, bodies beyond the bounds of the Presbytery (such as the Synod’s ELM Centre) also offer educational resources and opportunities that will be of benefit to members of the Church within this Presbytery.

This page has been included in our site to give surfers a ready access to these resources. Its level of activity will, of course, depend upon what resources are offered and when.

More will be added when the information comes to hand.

OLD TESTAMENT STUDIES FOR EVERYONE

Open BibleFor over four years now, Emeritus Professor Henrietta van Winsen (a member of the Chatham Congregation) has been conducting monthly Old Testament sessions at Port Macquarie that are open to all members of all congregations throughout the Presbytery (and anyone else interested). At the Presbytery meeting at Port Macquarie on 17th March, 2007, this group presented the fruits of some of their work with a dramatic presentation of the background to the Book of Ruth.

Sessions for 2007 began in earnest on Wednesday, 6th June. Each session is at Port Macquarie and starts at 10:00am. Bring your own lunch – tea and coffee provided. The day concludes about 2:30 or 3:00pm – allowing time for those from more distant centres to get home before dark. The cost for the session is just $10 per person for the day.

Sessions for the remainder of 2007 have been scheduled as follows:
