This page has been designed as a means of giving topical news about the Presbytery (or even from further afield) that will be of interest to members of the Presbytery and to Web surfers generally. As well as that, it provides a reference point for the plethora of trivia and other information we think you might find interesting/helpful/annoying.
Here is a brief list of the current topics on this page. Click on any particular item in this list to go to that topic. Further topics will be added as they are suggested and as the information becomes available (and publishable). Hint: some events get listed on the “Meetings” page and what you are looking for may well be on that page.
NCYC, Perth, January, 2007
In January this year, three young people from the Manning Congregation, Hillary, Cameron and Sam (with some financial assistance from the Presbytery), attended the National Christian Youth Convention (NCYC) in Perth, Western Australia.

In appreciation of the support they were given by the Presbytery, they have prepared a PowerPoint presentation which you can download and show to your own congregation. Because PowerPoint files can get pretty large (particularly with lots of photos!), they prepared three different versions. Available below are the two smaller versions. If you would like the larger version (74.9MB and a bit large, even for broadband), please contact the Manning Congregation’s Church Office.
Here are the two version available from this site:

Medium version (23.4MB)
The Presbytery Logo
The Presbytery Logo was designed by Mrs Rosemary Polkinghorne of the Wingham Wider Congregation. The letters “MNC” – Mid North Coast – are the basis of the logo but the colours convey a variety of meanings as well.
The dark and light green of the “M” are representative of the rich vegetative growth on so much of the Mid North Coast. The gold of the “N” is representative of the golden sands of our extensive surfing beaches and the yellow behind it is reminiscent of the abundant sunlight that brings so many holiday-makers to the area.
The blue of the “C” represents the waters of the South Pacific Ocean, defining our eastern boundary and the light blue represents the sky – complete with the stars of the Southern Cross constellation, reminding us of the cross of Christ and that the first name given to our continent by early cartographers (before its discovery by Europeans) was Terra Australis d’Espiritus Sanctus, the great south land of the Holy Spirit.
Mission Statement of the Presbytery
The Presbytery of Mid North Coast is committed to:
Support and serve the mission areas within its boundaries, through local congregations;
Equip and encourage the whole People of God in the life, work and mission of the Church.
Designated and Co-opted members of Presbytery
Under the Uniting Church Regulations, the Presbytery has designated four lay people as members of Presbytery (representative of the bodies to which they belong, as indicated); five more lay people have been co-opted because of particular skills, gifts or experience that they are able to contribute to the life of the Presbytery; and two ministers have been co-opted because of the particular responsibilities they have accepted within the life of the Presbytery. They are:
